Hugh Freeze Coaching from Hospital Bed
An Unexpected Journey
The coaching journey of Hugh Freeze took an unexpected turn when he faced a severe health setback prior to the start of the 2019 season. The infection was so severe that Freeze was placed in a medically induced coma. Despite his condition, Freeze was determined to coach his first game with Liberty on Saturday night. With the help of his assistant coaches, Freeze was able to call plays from his hospital bed. The Flames went on to win the game, and Freeze's story became an inspiration to many.
